Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival scheduled to kick off in March

The event will open with the theme of “Dak Lak – A destination of world coffee” and aims to promote the brand of Buon Ma Thuot coffee and develop Vietnamese specialty coffee. It will contribute to turning Buon Ma Thuot into a global coffee destination, thereby raising the value of local coffee, affirming the position of Vietnamese coffee in the international arena, and honouring domestic coffee growers and businesses.

Furthermore, the coffee festival will also serve to create a golden opportunity for Dak Lak as it seeks to introduce its potential and tourism strengths, as well as promoting investment attraction in terms of coffee trading and processing, along with other agricultural products.

This year, the eighth version of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival will feature a series of events, including a provincial investment promotion conference, a coffee trade fair, a seminar on the development of the coffee industry, as well as a business-matching seminar and photo exhibitions on Vietnamese coffee culture and the worldwide history of coffee, among other activities. Furthermore, there will be music performances, a street carnival, a festival of light, competitions for coffee farmers and baristas, a video-making contest on Buon Ma Thuot coffee, and a contest for handicrafts made from coffee trees. Dubbed the coffee capital of Vietnam, Dak Lak boasts the largest farming area in the nation with around 210,000 hectares with an annual output of more than 520,000 tonnes.
